PTA Potluck at Open House on 9/13

Our first month of school is always a busy one.  Welcoming back students, welcoming new students, and getting our school year up and running is a big task! It has been such a pleasure to have our students back in school, though, and we are really off to a great start.  A few highlights from our first few weeks include:

* Practicing fire drills and a lockdown drill

* Morning meetings in our classrooms

* Our first community morning meeting where we read Little Miss Spider

* Our whole-school book and project Only One You and bulletin board of our school of fish

* The annual kindergarten tour of the building with Pete the Cat

* Getting 1:1 classroom chromebook sets and getting to start using them

* Kicking off fall assessments to see where we are beginning at

* Learning and practicing our school-wide rules and expectations that keep us safe, kind, and responsible

* Watching caterpillars turn into Monarch Butterflies

* A great Open House and PTA potluck dinner

* Welcoming new staff to our first grade, kitchen, Special Education team, library, and Title I team

Looking forward to updating you in October!
